About The closed-loop flight experiment
A fly body hovers while its motor circuit lights up. A detailed community experiment tests what the wiring contributes to flight.
What’s actually happening
Uses MANC, FlyWire, and flybody. The author reports closed-loop flight and control comparisons, including no clear flight advantage over rewired networks after recalibrating each readout. Ground takeoff remains unresolved: flight starts in midair, walking is mostly stepping, and the visual brain is not connected to the flight-stability loop.
